Before
becoming principal of Lilburn Middle School, Taylor was the principal at Crews
Middle School from 2006 to 2008 and the assistant principal for instruction at
North Gwinnett High School from 2003 to 2006.
He has
also taught high school World History and US Government and served as chair of
both departments. He was an assistant professor in the College of Education at
Georgia State University from 1998 to 2000.
“We
believe we have selected the leaders to lead us forward,” Superintendent Erroll
Davis said after introducing the candidates.
District
4 Board of Education Member Nancy Meister has said the North Atlanta High community
will soon have the chance to meet Taylor.
Taylor
will replace Mark MyGrant, who returned to be interim principal of North Atlanta High at the beginning of this year
after having resigned at the end of last year. He agreed to return during the
search for a permanent principal at the Buckhead school.
