APD investigates shooting at Buckhead apartments

Atlanta police are investigating a shooting of a man late Wednesday morning at the Darlington Apartments, 2025 Peachtree Road N.E. in Buckhead.

"We found an individual who had a grazing gunshot wound to his thigh," Atlanta Police Zone 2 Commander Maj. Van Hobbs said. "He advised us that he had come to the location to sell a firearm, and something happened during the transaction."

The victim was alert, conscious and breathing, police said, and was taken to Grady Hospital.
Investigators searched the building, but were not able to find the gun that was being sold, Hobbs said.

Police questioned a man on the scene who fit the victim's description of a person he was meeting, and the man was arrested for outstanding warrants, Hobbs said. It is unclear what charges he faces, or whether he will be charged in connection with the shooting.
