Elizabeth B. Higgins, executive vice president and CFO at Oglethorpe Power
Corporation, will be the speaker at the Thursday, June 21, breakfast meeting of
the Buckhead Business Association. Oglethorpe Power is the nation's largest power supply cooperative
in assets, annual sales and ultimate customers served.

Oglethorpe Power supplies power to 39 of Georgia's 42 Electric
Membership Corporations (EMC's) which serve over four million Georgians living
in approximately two-thirds of the state's land area. The Corporation has
assets of approximately $8 billion and annual revenues of $1.4 billion.
The Thursday meeting also will be the June date for the BBA’s
monthly Speed Networking event with tables of approximately eight people each.
Each person at the tables will have two minutes to present themselves, their
business and tell the group what kind of client they are hoping to find.
The BBA breakfast meetings are held at the City Club of
Buckhead, located on the 18th floor of the Atlanta Financial Center,
3343 Peachtree Road N.E. Cost is $10 for BBA members and $20 for non-members.
Parking is free with parking ticket stamped at the City Club of Buckhead.
The three June breakfast meetings, which are sponsored by
BuckheadView, have concentrated on chief financial officers as speakers to
discuss how their companies have coped during the recent economic recession.
Before joining Oglethorpe Power in April 1997, Higgins worked for
several consulting firms including Southern Engineering, Deloitte & Touche,
and Energy Management Associates. Her consulting experience includes
competitive bidding analyses, rate designs, integrated resource planning
studies, operational/dispatch studies, bulk power market analysis, several
merger analyses, and litigation support.
Higgins graduated with high honors from the Georgia Institute of
Technology and holds a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering degree. She also
holds a Masters of Business Administration, with a concentration in finance,
from Georgia State University.

She and her husband, Rick, live with their two sons in Norcross.
The fourth Thursday of June will feature the first BBA Signature
Luncheon of 2012 with Coca-Cola Enterprises Chairman and CEO John Brock as the
featured speaker.
It will also feature the presentation of the quarterly public
safety awards to an Zone 2 Atlanta Police officer, a Fulton County Sheriff’s
officer and a firefighter with the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department.
The BBA luncheon meeting June 28 will be held at 103 West
special events facility, at 103 West Paces Ferry Road, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30
p.m. Free valet parking is available.
Individual tickets are $50 for BBA members and $75 for visitors.
Tables of 8 are available at $400 for BBA members and $600 for
